To celebrate its landmark bicentenary in 2026, the Zoological Society of London conservation charity is hosting a Big Birthday Bash at London Zoo over the May bank holiday weekend. Visitors will be able to enjoy a family-friendly street party featuring four themed zones filled with interactive entertainment.
The Party Animals area will offer high-energy activities including animal-inspired aerobics, themed party games, and a live talent show before transitioning into a relaxed live music space each afternoon. In the Winning Zone, visitors will be able to participate in traditional fairground games reimagined with a conservation twist, , while creative minds are invited to the Creation Station, where they can design their own vision of a future zoo using maps and various artistic tools. Finally, the festive Birthday Banquet section will serve classic summer treats like BBQ burgers, cupcakes, and jelly, set amongst colourful bunting and parasols – though you're welcome to bring your own picnic as well.

London Zoo's Big Birthday Bash will take place from 2 to 4 May, with admission included in the Zoo entry (adults £33.60, children £23.50, concessions available). You can find out more and book here.
