For more than a dozen years, the London Children's Literature Festival has been introducing families to the joys of books and reading, growing into the country's largest such event.

Taking place on Barnes Green and at venues in its immediate vicinity on 27 and 28 June, the festival brings together heavy-hitters from the world of children's books to present their latest works, host workshops and discussions, put on shows, and more. The 2026 edition features illustrator Alex Scheffler of “The Gruffalo” fame, “Supertato” creator Paul Linnet, beloved children's author Michael Rosen, and even famous actors Hugh Bonneville and Martin Sheen. And while many of the events are ticketed, there's plenty of free fun to have at the festival as well.
