The recently launched rooftop bar and food court Freight Brixton is quickly making a name for itself as one of the top party destinations in South London. It gets especially lively on Thursdays, when you can get a head start on the weekend by enjoying great live soul and jazz tunes from some of the genres' most exciting musical talents, curated by the Cross the Tracks festival.

Thursdays at Freight, the largest rooftop venue in London, is a live music series that kicks off around 6pm and wraps up around four hours later. The line-up is handpicked by Cross the Tracks, one of the capital's standout music festivals. Taking place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, the event brings together fans of contemporary jazz, funk, and soul, and you can micro-dose that same kind of fun community spirit at the weekly Freight sessions. The current scheduled programme is as follows:

  • J18 June - EDBL
  • 25 June - Sambroso All Stars
  • 9 July - Jerome Thomas
  • 23 July - Secret Night Gang
  • 30 July - Rozzzqween
  • 6 August - Tanhai Collective

Best of all, tickets to the events are completely free, so there's little excuse to not showing up.
