Long-time Japanese fast-food favourite Wasabi is elevating lunch with the launch of its new omakase-style summer menu, now available across UK branches. Inspired by the Japanese dining tradition of "leave it to the chef," this tasting-style box offers a more luxurious experience over the standard takeaway tray, featuring seven bites designed to be enjoyed in a particular order.
It kicks off with an edamame bean salad and ends with a spicy tuna inari pocket, with highlights like the tuna dragon roll (with yellowfin tuna, avocado, and cucumber) and citrusy ponzu-dressed hosomaki in between. It's all tucked into fancy gold packaging, complete with a shiny Tokubetsu sticker.
Also on the summer menu is the colourful jewelled donburi, a crunchy prawn dragon roll, and the California potto, a unique combo of sushi and potato, which, trust us, works. Returning favourites like the rainbow set and tuna hosomaki are back, too, with a seasonal touch.
