Internationally acclaimed pastry chef Albert Adrià, one of the best pâtissiers in the world, holds court at his all-dessert restaurant in Soho's luxurious Hotel Café Royal, serving wondrous sweet treats accompanied by handpicked bubbles.

Albert Adrià and his brother Ferran kicked off a gastronomical revolution with their legendary, now-defunct restaurant El Bulli, which wielded three Michelin stars at the height of its power. While he was the head chef at the Michelin-starred Tickets in Barcelona, Adrià was inspired by the restaurant's dessert-only area to open a dessert-only restaurant. His first establishment outside of his native Spain is part of the opulent 5-star Hotel Café Royal and blends tradition and modernity in a sophisticated, marble-clad setting.

At Cakes & Bubbles, Adrià's exquisite creations are on full display, including his signature Cheese Cake, which reconceptualises the classic cheesecake using the creamy, brie-like Baron Bigod cheese with a skin of hazelnut and white chocolate, accompanied by homemade Breton shortbread. Other options include the light “After Eight” strawberry and chocolate marshmallow cloud, or the Cakes & Bubbles Chocolate Cork, a steamed sponge coffee cake surrounding an airy chocolate mousse and hazelnut praline with crunchy Feulletine, shaped like a champagne cork.

All of these desserts can be paired with a curated international selection of sparkling wines and champagne, from grand marques to home-grown bubbles. The restaurant also offers an afternoon tea menu that features a parade of the chef's exceptional desserts.
