Some of London’s most sought-after street food is available at Mr Falafel. This low-key Palestinian spot specialises in budget-friendly falafel wraps, with a huge choice of extra ingredients and different sized wraps available. All that choice means this colourful eatery has something for every type of diner – as long as you love falafel.

Get shopping at Westfield London, a vast mall next to Wood Lane station. In the complex you’ll find a huge range of retailers including big high street names and luxury brands. You’ll also find diverse dining options and a variety of activities, from mini-golf to make-up masterclasses and cooking demonstrations.

Get your cup of coffee from Grounds of Arabica near Latimer Road station. This independent café is sunny and bright and has plenty of outdoor tables. In addition to fresh coffee, you can try out homemade food including hot dishes, soup, cakes, and pastries. Much of the menu is plant-based.

Housed in a former pub, Ukai is a sophisticated and style-conscious spot that has retained the classic pub layout, centred around the bar. This smart and compact venue specialises in creative sushi and Japanese cuisine – presentation is everything here. The bar staff do a mean line of original cocktails too.

Family-run Hobson's Fish & Chips specialises in classic British cooking. The venue is smart with traditional tiled walls and comfortable booths. Check out Turmeric Kitchen for some of Paddington’s best-loved Indian food. The setting is classic and elegant with cushioned banquettes and marble tables. You’ll find a variety of authentic recipes on the menu from chicken tikka to palak paneer. A few familiar international dishes are also served such as burgers.

From Edgware Road station you can visit popular local café Java U. The setting is spacious and contemporary with outdoor tables also available. Shisha, coffee, and food are on offer here. You can get espresso drinks or filter coffee, tea, and smoothies, plus there's a menu of wraps, salads, paninis, and soup.

Visit The Sherlock Holmes Museum in Baker Street to get closer to the character and his cases. Housed in a Georgian townhouse, this museum opened in 1990 and contains a wide array of interesting exhibits for Sherlock fans. The gift shop boasts the world's largest collection of Sherlock Holmes memorabilia.

Whatever your level of experience, even if you're a total beginner, you can go bouldering at EustonWall Climbing Centre. This modern and well-equipped climbing gym does inductions for newcomers and you can get private coaching sessions to hone your skills. The centre also organises socials so you can meet fellow climbers.

Science, art, and culture come together at the Wellcome Collection. This imaginative museum shows permanent collections as well as temporary exhibitions. There’s a brightly-lit café and bookshop and a spacious library where you’re welcome to find a cosy spot and browse the books on the shelves, covering a huge array of subjects.

Shop for contemporary menswear at well-curated store Universal Works. The shop has a cool vibe and the clothes are meant to be inclusive, with an emphasis on getting a great fit. In-store you'll find footwear, casual clothing, winter coats, suits, and shirts. There's also a visible repair service to enhance worn pieces.

Get off at Farringdon and grab a cocktail at The Gunmakers. It has a traditional pub exterior but specialises in cocktails and tacos, paired with all the cosiness of a pub environment. The interior combines the traditional and the contemporary. Try tropical cocktails here with a variety of Mexican bites.

Considered one of London's best pubs, The Old Red Cow has a distinctive and traditional black and red facade. Bold patterned wallpaper continues this look without being over-the-top. Tayyabs is one of the most popular restaurants in Whitechapel, and has been cooking up Punjabi cuisine since 1972. It’s a large and bustling environment that attracts a diverse crowd and has a BYOB policy. The eclectic menu includes curries, charcoal grills, and vegetarian recipes. Alight at Mile End to visit Mile End Park. This green space covers 32 acres of land and has a range of facilities including a stadium and a skate park. It's also a haven for wildlife. The park is well-known for its pavilions hosting art exhibitions and play sessions for kids.

Visit Barking to check out The Boathouse Café & Bar. Opened in 2016, this is a modern riverside cocktail bar with a terrace. The bar gives a platform to local artists for showing their work and it's constructed from recycled wood. Hot drinks, beer, and cocktails are available, plus a small food selection.
