Halal in Shoreditch

Halal-friendly restaurants in Shoreditch

Fat Hippo

Halal chicken

Fat Hippo is well-known for its mouthwatering burgers and dirty fries, including a range of signature beef burgers and boneless buttermilk chicken patties.  Their menu can be described as "good old-fashioned, roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face" food, and is made with certified halal chicken but not halal-certified beef. They also serve a substantial vegan, gluten-free, and kids' menu.

Cottons

Halal Caribbean food

It's all about Caribbean cooking at Cottons, where there's a real tropical vibe thanks to the wooden decor and lively music. There are over 300 types of rum on offer here, as well as a range of delicious cocktails. The main menu includes dishes like curried mutton, jerk meats, stews, and seafood, plus there's a menu for kids under eight. The Shoreditch branch is also home to The Cottons Club, a speakeasy-style bar and club. Although Cottons is halal certified, they do serve pork and alcohol on site.

Honest Burgers

Mouthwatering burgers

Honest Burgers is committed to championing sustainable farming, quality produce, and transparent sourcing of ingredients, so it's no surprise they're proud to say that all of their chicken is also Halal Certified. Their burger spots can be found all over the city, serving delicious chicken, beef or veggie burgers at affordable prices. Tuck into options like the buffalo fried chicken burger, a spicy, tangy twist on a classic fried chicken burger, or the pesto chicken made with a grilled chicken breast, basil pesto, mustard mayo, tomato and rocket, plus other options.

Dishoom

Halal Bombay-inspired food

All of the lamb, chicken and turkey served at Dishoom are sourced from Halal-certified suppliers, and they even have copies of the certificates for your peace of mind. While they do serve items like alcohol, sausages, and bacon, they want to assure all diners that Haram items are prepared completely separately, cooked on dedicated griddles or pans, with utensils thoroughly washed afterwards. Enjoy favourites like the chicken ruby or the all-time signature black daal with a cheesy naan for dipping, dunking and mopping.

Coqfighter

Halal chicken burgers

Coqfighter was originally a pop-up in pubs across the city but soon secured a permanent spot at one of Boxpark's venues following a string of successful residencies. Now, they have multiple locations around the city, serving a menu packed with halal-friendly chicken burgers and fried chicken dishes, including crispy confit wings and buttermilk bites. There are also vegan burgers, along with a selection of sides and sharing plates to feast on here.

Standard Balti House

Indian and Bangladeshi

This family-owned curry house serves a diverse selection of Indian and Bangladeshi dishes, with halal options available. The menu is divided into sections: medium-spicy, mild and creamy, and fairly hot, featuring classic Indian favourites alongside a selection of authentic Sylheti dishes from Bangladesh.
