Fabric London
Fabric is a London institution, known far and wide as a legendary place whose very name conjures up images of heaving dancefloors, booming beats and sleepless nights for generations of clubbers. It's been serving up unforgettable parties since before the turn of the millennium and spearheaded the underground scene's push into becoming an integral part of the UK's nightlife.
The venue, set in a former warehouse, encompasses three separate rooms, one of which features a "bodysonic" vibrating floor that will have the music rumbling up from your feet and straight through you. The music policy is diverse and makes room both for international headliners and underground acts, with themed nights ensuring there's something for everyone each weekend. You can catch live gigs as well, and if you want to take a bit of your night home with you, Fabric also runs an influential record label putting out the latest in electronic music.
Declared the number 1 club in the world, not just London, by DJ Mag in 2006 and 2008, further proof that Fabric has transcended being merely a club came in 2016, when it faced closure due to having its licence revoked. The threat sparked outrage all over the world, with fans and performers alike coming together in emotional tributes, petition signatures and grassroots funding to help the beloved venue. When it reopened two months later, the relief among clubbers was palpable, and anything that inspires such love is a must-visit in our book.
