The Barbican Centre opened back in 1982 and has been a prominent symbol of brutalist architecture ever since. Inside there's an art gallery that explores all forms of art, as well as a plant-filled conservatory and a programme of changing events covering all kinds of topics, from art, design, fashion, photography, film and even music. It's open every day of the week and is free to visit.

Pretty impressive building from the outside, with a varied programme of events. Film, music, theatre, art, whatever you're into, you're sure to find something to your liking here.

A landmark cultural institution in London with great exhibitions and a nice greenhouse. Has really good souvenir shops as well.
