Island

Island is a surf and turf restaurant on the upper floor of Mare Street Market in King's Cross, run by two chefs with serious credentials. Tom Brown handles the seafood side, bringing the style he's known for in London, while Brad Carter takes charge of the meat, drawing on his nose-to-tail approach from Birmingham. The menu mixes small and medium sharing plates with creative seafood-and-meat pairings, plus a few larger dishes if you want something more traditional. The space is huge, the menu is ambitious, and it's one of the more distinctive openings in the area north of King's Cross station.
