While many of the more exotic cuisines adapt their delicacies to Western palates when expanding abroad, Mr Chow took the concept a step further and became a respected fixture of global Chinese dining as a result. The original Mr Chow restaurant in London reinvented fine dining by marrying authentic Beijing cuisine to elegant European-style service.

Beneath its arched ceilings, the Knightsbridge eatery, opened in 1968, helped pioneer numerous concepts that are considered the norm today. Besides bringing together exotic cuisine and familiar service, Mr Chow was one of the first to display important original artwork in its dining room. It remains a beautiful, elegantly furnished venue to this day, catering to fashionable crowds in search of sophisticated Chinese fare. The restaurant's dining areas are also available for private hire.

Speaking of which, the creative chefs at Mr Chow regularly come up with and develop new and exciting recipes. The resulting dishes, for example Green Prawns, Chicken Satay and Mr Chow Noodles are considered classics of the genre. There are various set menus to choose from, carefully compiled by the chefs to ensure a balanced meal featuring different flavours and textures. The preparation of the food is also part of the draw at this dining institution, as it was supposedly the first to bring out a chef to perform original hand-pulled Beijing-style noodle making as nightly entertainment. The staff will also bring the champagne trolley by your table at the beginning of your meal and the desserts at the end.
