Novikov has been doing its thing on Berkeley Street since 2012, and in Mayfair years, that's basically forever. While plenty of swish restaurants have come and gone, this one still fills out its dining rooms most nights of the week.
The space is a three-in-one institution: a slick Asian restaurant upstairs, a rustic Italian downstairs, and an atmospheric lounge bar that keeps the night going until the early hours of the morning. Head down to the Italian and you'll feel like you've landed right in the heart of Italy, complete with a flaming wood oven, while the glitzy chandeliers remind you you're still in Mayfair.
The menu is rooted in the classics but is refined and elegant, in true Mayfair style. Think upmarket dishes like black tagliolini with crab meat and courgette, king crab with avocado and Sicilian tomatoes, and pizzas topped with black truffle that justify the splurge. The pasta is all handmade, the seafood is fresh off the counter, and the portions are generous.
And then there's the lounge. Every Tuesday, Novikov Live turns it into an intimate stage for blues, funk, and soul. There's even an enticing online deal: two cocktails and a selection of finger bites to enjoy while the music plays.
