The Churchill Arms

Seeing as it's regarded as one of the most beautiful pubs in the country, you'd have a hard time missing the Churchill Arms pub in Kensington – but the fact that its façade is completely covered in flowers can't hurt either.

The picture-perfect pub will have you whipping out your phone on sight, especially when in full bloom or during the holidays, when it's decked out in full festive decoration. The name isn't just pageantry, either – it was built in 1750 and frequented by Winston Churchill's grandparents. Today, it's crammed full of Churchill memorabilia as well as plants, making it a refreshingly verdant place to grab a pint any time of the year.

Speaking of pints, The Churchill Arms is a Fuller's establishment, so you can expect a broad and changing range of their cask-conditioned ales and intriguing alternatives such as craft lagers and ciders. The drinks menu goes beyond beer not just with soft drinks and spirits, but also a decent selection of wines from all over the world. The food, meanwhile, is spicy and authentic Thai fare, from different curries to various stir-fried dishes with steamed jasmine rice, as well as smaller nibbles like spring rolls and prawn crackers. It's all served in a butterfly-themed conservatory that's a welcome break from the usual boozy pub setting.
