One of the first Greek restaurants in London, The Elysée has a long and storied history as a daytime eatery and lively nightlife spot for celebrities and ordinary folk alike.

Though originally launched in 1936 as a French dining restaurant that drew in celebrities and royals, The Elysée went fully Greek in 1962 with traditional Greek music and delicacies on the menu. It retained its reputation and famous clientele through the switch, with its guestlist including HRH Prince Philip, The Beatles and Mohammed Ali, among others.

Following extensive refurbishment in 2010, the Fitzrovia venue today encompasses a 1930s-inspired main restaurant with refined decorative touches and an in-house band that keeps the dance floor moving to Greek folk tunes late into the night. In addition, The Elysée offers elegant private dining areas in muted colours, suitable for up to 60 seated guests, and a fashionable cocktail bar and lounge with bespoke Greek cocktails. Meanwhile, the heated terrace at the top of the building features a retractable roof and can offer al fresco dining throughout the year, accompanied by relaxing lounge music. All of The Elysée’s areas are available for private hire as well, if you’re looking to put on a larger function.

The menu at The Elysée features a broad range of Greek and Cypriot specialities, prepared using quality ingredients imported from the Mediterranean countries. There is a set mezze menu for two or more people that spans the different flavours on offer, or you can order off the à la carte. You can also order a bottle of fine wine to pair with your meal.
