It's modern Turkish cuisine served in a sleek environment at Yeni, a transplant from Istanbul to London. It was opened in 2019 by award-winning chef Civan Er, whose Istanbul restaurant has been named as one of the best in the world. This is a place for style-conscious diners, with both the restaurant interior and the dishes themselves being elegant and well-presented.
The setting at Yeni is authentic and contemporary, with exposed brick walls and wooden floorboards. The space is decorated with lots of mirrors and hanging lights that make it feel spacious. At this restaurant, fine British produce is used to prepare contemporary dishes cooked over open fire. The seasonal menus are continually changing, and you'll find a number of options including tasting menus, set menus, and the à la carte offering.
Lunch and dinner is served each day, with vegetarian menus available. Vegan and pescetarian alternatives can also be served. The à la carte menus include sharing dishes like citrus salad, manti dumplings, or bulgur fritters, plus dishes cooked over the fire like Cornish squid and organic Welsh lamb. The set menu is designed to share in a group, whilst the tasting menu gives you a comprehensive taste of modern Turkish flavours. Original house cocktails are served and the well-selected wine list includes bottles from Turkey as well as other regions. Whilst Yeni is indeed a neighbourhood Turkish restaurant, it's an elevated experience compared to the local spots you might be used to.
