I love Urban Deli but Nicki the waiter behind the coffee shop part treated us with utmost disgrace.

We were 4 adults (2 black, 1 Middle Eastern & 1 Asian) with 5 kids coming in for a coffee on an Easter Thursday evening at 7pm. He already gave us the eye making one of us feeling uncomfortable for pointing and what seems to be talking abt us with his colleague, the rest of us initially didn’t notice. He then came over to take away the dish the former guest left. He then came back and asked if we were hotel guests for which we answered no. His response was: ok, if you’re not hotel guests then u must buy something to sit here. We were shocked as we literally just arrived and it takes time to settle down with 5 kids under 10! I responded that we will buy something but give us some time. I asked him to elaborate his statement of if we weren’t hotel guests then we weren’t welcomed, for which he rudely answered: well that’s obvious isn’t it? I mean, we’ve been to hotels before, usually you’re still welcome as comsumers regardless. He left rudely.

So we went to place an order at the till were the Latina waitress took ours and asked if we wanted it as takeaway for which I replied: yeah maybe so because we don’t feel very welcomed here. He stood at the computer, turned around and started attacking us. There was a long monologue where he rudely interrupted us, using ruler technique and minimised us. In short, he point blank stated that it wasn’t a weird request as there came people in staying without consuming anything and that he could see who are guests and who weren’t! I was shocked and asked what he meant by that prejudice for which his reply was: I know a lot of immigrants so it’s not abt racism. And we all know whenever a white male says that… it only means one thing.

Funny enough, one of us was there the day before and said he was equally passive aggressive and rude to her but she wasn’t bothered. She had asked for red tea roibos for which his answer was: well that’s the only red tea that exist..

His whole aura was so defensive, we couldn’t even explain what we felt like without being rudely interrupted. And of course he just had to point out that we totally overreacted the whole experience. He had prejudices against us from the start, was rude on ”mansplaining” the so called terms/conditions, dismissive when we tried to explain our experience, loud and aggressive when speaking, rolled his eyes when asked to listen. My god, I could go on and on abt his behaviour.

I’m so deeply shocked and disappointed, not only am I upset that he put us through this whole experience but our poor kids had to witness his outrageous behaviour. His colleague even had to shush him and pull him back because he was sooo aggressively defensive.

It’s such a shame because I work with a cancer organisation where we have a partnership with Urban Deli. We’ve never been to this specific location but I would never want to take the risk of exposing our young sick members of this treatment.

I’m so disgusted with this occurrence and I can’t actually believe this happens in Sweden 2025. The only comfort I find in this situation is that his colleague was so nice and that this one single person doesn’t represent Urban Deli as a whole organisation.

The food was great. Ordered the Sloth (chicken) & Greed (pork belly) ramen. Both well cooked but slightly too salty for me personally but I don’t eat salty food at all. In general I find ramen too salty. The chicken breast was a bit dry so I’d recommend pork belly. The bang bang shrimps were amazing so we ended up ordering 2 portions (appr. 5-6 pieces). Their signature KFC boneless chicken (appr. 5 pieces) were ok, spicy but somehow a too sweet/chemically aftertaste. Definitely had better Korean fried chicken (Monster Chicken). Gyoza were amazing and extremely juicy (4pieces).

The service was way too slow and actually made this review worse. The restaurant was half empty at 13.00 o’clock during Good Friday (Easter Friday). One waitress (young Asian with thick lash extension) had lunch during business lunchtime at a restaurant is quite questionable; and the other one (white curvy female with long blonde hair) wasn’t very bothered and had absolutely no sense of urgency nor overall outlook around in the restaurant. Me and another guest had to get up and chase for her attention. The food was good but the service ruined it all. Wouldn’t have come for dinner and paid that much for this service. It was so slow that one of the ramen had developed a fat membrane on the broth, which means that the food was out there way too long before reaching to table. And in fact, none of the food was coming-out-of-the-oven-hur but merely lukewarm. They weren’t rude, just extremely slow and unbothered. However, the Asian waiter had quite a bit of patience when recommending us food.

Mediocre Mexican food. Didn’t taste too much and were a bit oily, especially the fish tacos. The white fish wasn’t well prepared and stank. Good sauces, medium size tacos (corn tortillas), big size burritos. Service really slow, the Swedish worker was very attentive. The rest (tall Latino guy, dark hair Latina) were not paying attention at all. I had to wave him over, and even then he continued to finish a conversation with the latina first. Very disappointimg service. 9 dishes for 1400kr.

So and so Argentinian food. Had the salmon that wasn’t anything in particular, the vegetables were good and the chimichurri were good. Empanadas were amazing. My friend had the cheese and garlic bread. Bill: 700kr, no drinks

Small place, kind of plastic chair feeling. Self pick ramen that will be cooked for you. The veg we’re too well done and should have been cooked separately. Price depended on weight, mine was 700gr for 250kr. There were 5 different broths, I chose the sichuan one that was ok.

My friend had the bowl without rice but the portion was so small, but she did add some extra when addressed.

By far best chicken in Stockholm. Boneless fried chicken. We order 2 half and half. He recommended the Monchi and Seoul however the Pa Padak and Honey Mustard were the best! The size was supposed to be enough but honestly, 5 regular size of each flavour (10pcs in half/half) is a medium portion for me. Comes with small potato panko fries. The drinks were so so, not big fan of soft drinks but surely interesting to taste. Small size of drinks though. The hot sauce isn’t for the weak ones.

Bill: 716kr for 2x half/half, 2 drinks and 2 sauces

The menu is incredible, wanted to order everything. So good quality and super cool venue with good urban music (afrobeats). The corn and fried shrimp tacos were amazing. The Korean chicken wings were a bit disappointing

One of the best quality lunches for a fairly cheap price. The crepes were amazing! Quite small place but cosy.
