From Stenpiren, Gothenburg's seafront travel hub, this Asian-influenced hotel restaurant in the Comfort Hotel casts flirty backwards glances to the days the Swedish East India Company had their trading post in Gothenburg harbour. Trendy Asian vibes pervade both the decor and menu and the restaurant's outdoor dining area has views over the entrance to the harbour.
Culinary influences at OGBG come from all over Asia. The cuisines of Thailand, Vietnam and China take centre stage, along with flavours from India, Korea and Cambodia. While flavours come from far afield, ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible. All the meat they use is Swedish and the kitchen only works with responsibly sourced fish. Vegetables are organic and locally grown as far as possible. Lunch is served during the day with a choice of three main courses, a salad buffet, coffee, tea and dessert.
The bar serves up cocktails with names such as Damn Coriander and Itadakimasu and is an ideal spot to come for a post-work drink or an aperitif before dinner.
With its panoramic views over the harbour and the sea, OGBG's lively rooftop bar, TaKeT, is one of the world's best roofbars, according to The Rooftop Guide. TaKeT is open every Friday and Saturday, but sometimes they also open during the week for surprises and pop-ups.
