The food at Rollin Bistros is inspired by travels all over the world, from Asia to America. The industrial-style building houses both a Japanese izakaya and international streetfood restaurant. The menu includes hamburgers and main courses made from seasonal ingredients.

Stop by and eat lunch at this glamorous resort close to Gothenburg's big events venues. International influences combine at their American lunch restaurant Gaby's, and the hotel restaurant Archie's, which offers “all-day American dining”, with American classics for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

In 2023, Löfqvist, which also has a restaurant in Arkaden shopping mall, now has a sister restaurant on Västra Hamngatan. They've created a harmonious oasis where you can stop for a coffee, a delicious shopping lunch or a glass of bubbles. Choose between meat, fish and vegetarian options. 

Norwegian Koie perfected their ramen on their home turf, before bringing the concept to Gothenburg. The menu includes classic variations which can be customised with extra protein, broth or noodles if you like. 

If you're craving a proper traditional lunch strikes, set your sights on this cosy neighbourhood pub on Friggagatan. Kalle Glader focuses on hearty food for all budgets, with favourites on the menu like meatballs with mashed potatoes, vegetarian potato dumplings, and schnitzel. If it's a special lunch, why not treat yourself to a well-chosen beer.

A short detour outside the city centre, you can enjoy lunch with magnificent views of the water, either inside the stylish restaurant or on the terrace in the summer. At Hovås Kallbadhus, the menu is based on seasonal produce, with freshly caught fish and shellfish a recurring feature. Eat lunch with views over the Göta Älv river in the Quality Hotel Waterfront's restaurant. They serve Swedish homecooking and international lunch dishes to suit all tastes. As well as the daily lunch special and a weekly vegetarian dish, you'll always find prawn sandwiches and a salad on the menu.

A French-style restaurant with tarte flambée as their signature dish - made on a base of sourdough and topped with locally-sourced ingredients. Or why not order a few mezze dishes and try a bit of everything?

Manfred's serves elegant Austrian and Swiss cuisine in the evenings but at lunchtime traditional Swedish homecooking is the order of the day. Food is hearty and rustic and served in friendly, unpretentious surroundings.

Bikt has its foundation in classic cuisine, but isn't afraid to use flavours from all over the world. At lunchtime they serve a daily meat or fish dish, as well as a weekly vegetarian dish. Dirty Records is an unusual combination of restaurant and record shop, a concept that gives strong Copenhagen vibes, particularly when the outdoor dining area opens up. At lunchtime they serve soups, sandwiches and other stylish dishes with flavours from all over the world. 

At Restaurant C, you can enjoy a well-balanced and affordable lunch of international homecooking-style dishes, perhaps best enjoyed on the year-round outdoor dining area surrounded by leafy Carlander park. Two new meat and fish dishes are served every weekday, as well as a weekly vegetarian and salad dish, all prepared with both taste and nutrition in mind.

If words such as tagliatelle, tartufo, polpette and gnocchi make your mouth water, Bar Robusta is the place to go at lunchtime. This popular Italian serves a simple lunch with a couple of starters, several main courses and a dessert. An extra plus is that you can order wine by the half glass at lunch. 

Historic Kometen has been frequented by Gothenburg's cultural elite over the years. Regulars and newcomers alike come for the elegant Swedish homecooking. The lunch menu changes daily and is available to view from 10am. There are always lots of popular classics to choose from.

Umizu has created a varied menu with both sushi and Asian hot dishes. They aim to offer something for all tastes, from traditional nigiri to exciting rolls, as well Japanese hot dishes and poké bowls. Stay and eat in the tropical cosy restaurant, or take your food home or to the office with you.

The menu at Bombay Street consists of modern variations on Indian cuisine. Inspiration for both the menu and interior design comes from the vibrant streets and street vendors of Indian metropolises, resulting in a charmingly kitschy restaurant with colourful features. At lunchtime they serve a range of dishes, always with vegetarian options. The price includes salad, naan bread, coffee, and water.

The lunch menu at Grace Sports Bar is in modern gastrobar style, and consists of a weekly salad, pasta, burger, meat and fish dish. You can eat at a decent price here in surroundings that are equal parts rustic, romantic and trendy, and during the summer months you can eat and drink on the sun-kissed outdoor terrace with views over Avenyn.

With a love for tacos in general and the Swedish variety in particular, the duo of friends behind Swedish Taco have created their own concept of Mexican street food in a new format. Pop by for a quick, tasty lunch in the form of tacos, bowls and burritos, either with meat or vegetarian. If you'd rather grab your food to-go, just get a takeaway.

In the mood for a proper burger lunch with a rock and roll backdrop? Then steer a course towards Magasinsgatan 5. Choose between smash hamburgers and burgers filled with fried chicken marinated in buttermilk - in true American style. There's also a wide range of toppings. If you prefer something slightly lighter, there are also salads on the menu.

At Poh-Keh, on trendy Teatergatan, the Hawaiian dish poké bowl takes centre stage, made from organic and largely locally-produced ingredients. The fish they use comes directly from Gothenburg's daily fish auction and there are also options for meat-eaters and vegans. Compose your own bowl or choose one of the options listed on the menu.

There's never a dull moment at this American-style entertainment centre. Even at lunchtime you can bowl and play shuffleboard in the large locale on Odinplatsen. The lunch menu is straightforward and includes a meat, fish and pasta dish, as well as a vegetarian option, every day.

At The Burger you can choose a different burger every day from their lunch menu. The classic American with dressing and onion, as well as the veggie burger of the day, are also always on the menu. Super-hungry? Choose a double. Coffee and a cookie are included, in keeping with Swedish tradition. As well as burgers inspired by all corners of the world, there's a wide range of sides and sauces to choose from.

Restaurang V serves top-notch pizza for both lunch and dinner. Made in the Genovese way and with sourdough bases, pizzas are topped with both traditional and more innovative toppings. If you're not in the mood for pizza, there are also fresh salads on the menu. Food is served in cool surroundings with large murals on the walls by artist duo Pichiavo. 

Right next to Stenpiren ferry terminal, with a view of the harbour entrance, you'll find the pan-Asian hotel restaurant OGBG. Lunch on flavour explosions from all corners of Asia, in charming surroundings that follow the same theme as the menu. Choose between the day's three lunch options, of which at least one is vegan, along with the salad buffet, coffee, tea and dessert.

At Diné all burgers are made from scratch from Swedish ingredients. They grind their own meat, make their own dressings to their own recipe and bake their own bread. At lunchtime, burgers are served with coleslaw or mixed fries, and truffle mayo and coffee are always included. Choose your favourite from classic burgers or vegetarian or vegan options.

At Dunder Döner in Partille you can enjoy döner, chicken and falafel in soft pita bread, as a wrap or platter. If you or anyone else in your group fancies something else there are also burgers and salad on the menu, but if you appreciate a good kebab this is the place to sink your teeth into a slice of Turkish fastfood culture.

Inside the historic Stora Saluhallen food hall, Banh Mi Shop specialises in sandwiches from Vietnam. Order a banh mi filled with chicken, pork, Vietnamese sausage, fish or tofu, or liver pate with coriander and fresh and pickled vegetables and herbs. A serious taste explosion. 

If you happen to be in the vicinity of Prioritet Serneke Arena you can eat lunch at Campo restaurant, which opened up in the multisport arena in summer 2019. The lunch menu includes fish, Swedish homecooking favourites and continental dishes. The menu changes daily.

Hearty sandwiches, wraps and bowls that you can compose yourself are the order of the day on Scandic Göteborg Central's lunch menu. The light, airy café area serves both lunch and an all-day breakfast concept. On Saturdays you can also eat lunch in the adjoining restaurant Food Bar, where the menu includes pasta and pizza.

Combine lunch with a little shuffleboard at Kopps, or just take a seat and enjoy lunch. The menu includes international dishes such as burgers, pasta and salads which can be eaten inside the simple restaurant or out on the outdoor dining area facing Kungsgatan.
