Where to find Gothenburg's best breakfast

Eat breakfast in classic American diner surroundings. And every Thursday you can tuck into a their all-you-can-eat pancake buffet. They also serve more traditional breakfast combos and all breakfast and brunch dishes are served all day. The place to be if you like a cheeky lie-in.

The award-winning Da Matteo chain boasts own-roasted coffee and delicious pastries from their own bakery. If you need to start the day with an early breakfast meeting, this is a stylish place to meet up. Breakfast can be eaten al fresco in the courtyard.

An extensive breakfast buffet is laid out every weekend at Evas Paley. It's served between 9am and midday and you can choose between three different sizes. Enjoy homebaked bread and own-pressed juices. The large outdoor serving area is a great place to start the day during the summer months.

Enjoy breakfast in classic konditori surroundings complete with large arched windows and chandeliers. Choose between the large or small breakfast packages. Both include a croissant with homemade marmelade, a hot drink and freshly-squeezed juice. They also have gluten and lactose-free alternatives. At Restaurant C, housed in the classic brick building of Carlanderska Hospital, you can start the day with a breakfast packed with both nutrition and flavour. Tolv Vinbar is mainly known for its natural wines and southern European small dishes, but it's also an excellent place to enjoy a late breakfast, in true Mediterranean style. From 10 o'clock, they serve cheese rolls from Da Matteo, cookies, juice and, naturally, excellent coffee. With its city-centre location, Gothenburg's shopping and cultural offerings are only a few steps away.
