Best Roots! No doubt why they were selected in the White Guide again this year. A place I always go back to if I'm on the go and I'm just as satisfied every time. Unfortunately, not many people are aware that it exists as it is located upstairs inside the library but is really a hidden gem.
Affordable and slightly cheaper than other organic "health cafés", suitable for the student, maternity leave with large stroller and lunch meeting, large and wide selection with different breakfast and lunch menus,gluten-free/lactose-free/sugar-free/vegan coffee for those who do not want to eat of their magical classic buns and pies, wraps, juices, coffee drinks and other organic, colorful and tasty. Everything I have eaten during my x-number visits here delivers a high and even standard, clean flavors and fresh ingredients. A favorite is their "Slightly healthier 79 KR" breakfast option with chia pudding, advokado sandwich on rye bread, health threat, coffee/tea + toe. Super fresh and filling!
The only minus I can give Roots is their room that lacks the "home cozy feeling" with dining-like tables, chairs and a lot of light that creates a sterile atmosphere. Perfectly understandable as it is located inside a library and may need to meet these criteria but it is possible to replace tables, place more green and darken the room. It never gets 100% cozy and therefore I can not put a 5 even though everything else in terms of the standard and the staff is a clear 5th. The people who work here are always super nice and service conscious, a factor that has become increasingly important to me. If you can sense high hospitality, pride in what you do and that there is a core of values that shines through, then I go back!
Don't hesitate to come here next time, especially on a sunny day because then you can sit out on their balcony overlooking the whole of Avenyn and Götaplatsen.
