Amano

Tacos made from heart to hand

If you assumed Amano was just another Tex-Mex place, it's time to think again. The restaurant on Drottninggatan focuses on tacos and small plates, all prepared according to the concept of “corazón a mano” – from heart to hand. Enjoy both lunch and dinner here, or by all means come by after work for a frozen margarita.

Behind Amano is a renowned team of restaurateurs with a common philosophy of artisanal food, free from shortcuts and semi-finished products. With chef Alan Nonell Borrone, who previously ran Bocado, at the helm, they want to offer a showcase for tacos – quite simply, a place where tacos can really shine.

Influences on the menu come from Mexico, Spain and Los Angeles, resulting in small flavour bombs in the form of tacos and other small dishes, often with slightly charred and smoky flavours. Meat, fish, seafood and vegetarian – whatever your preference, there are several varieties to choose from. Those who like sweets won't be disappointed; the dessert menu lists a bunch of Mexican postres to round off the meal.

Amano is open for both lunch and dinner, and you can also come here for a really cold cocktail. In true Mexican spirit, the focus is on colourful drinks based on tequila and mezcal, including classics like the frozen margarita and cantarito.
