Brunchoteket Linné

If you find yourself in the Linnéstaden (or Linné, as it's affectionately known) neighbourhood, and you're a fan of good drinks, tasty food and a great atmosphere, drop by Doktor Glas for lunch or dinner. The bar stocks a well-curated range of beers and wines served by the glass, and on weekends they serve a very popular vegetarian brunch.

The restaurant is named after the Swedish classic novel Doctor Glas by Hjalmar Söderberg, which was written in the form of a diary of a doctor in the early 1900s. The restaurant on Linnégatan doesn't just borrow the doctor's name, it has recreated the fictional doctor's waiting room and sitting room. Medicine cabinets, eye test charts, as well as the doctor's extensive library, line the walls and the dim, cosy decor makes for a welcoming, intimate atmopshere. Sipping a good drink in a leather armchair in front of the fire was one of Doctor Glas' everyday pleasures and it's a pleasure all bon viveurs are welcome to indulge in in the doctor's sitting room today.

The à la carte menu takes its inspiration from the cuisines of the world and everything is made from scratch. Locally-produced Swedish ingredients take centre stage and they only import produce that's in season in the country it comes from. The bar includes a wide, well-curated selection of beers from various parts of the world and several different wines, which, naturally, are served by the glass. If you'd rather eat at home, their entire menu can be ordered to take away.

When the weekend comes around, brunch is served at Doktor Glas. Helga's brunch is a colourful, vegetarian affair with dishes such as American pancakes with generous toppings, sourdough toast with avocado, shakshouka, smoothie bowls, fresh juices and indulgent mimosas.

The snug al fresco dining area is a popular spot on sunny days. There's lots of space on the comfy sofas and its position on the evening sun-side of Linnégatan makes it an ideal spot for guys and girls about town to eat and drink on light spring and summer evenings.
