From the team behind Bistro Freddie and Crispin comes Canal, a brand-new, laid-back all-day bistro opening June 30 in Westbourne Park. It's set inside the revamped Taxi House, the former HQ of the London Taxi Drivers' Association, where it features a sun-soaked waterside terrace and communal dining room where you can enjoy everything from breakfast to late-night dinners.
This marks the first project from Quality Projects, a new hospitality initiative by Dominic Hamdy (HAM Restaurants), in collaboration with lifestyle brand Mason & Fifth. Chef Adrian Hernandez Farina, who has experience at The French Laundry, ASKA, and Luca, is responsible for the food. He focuses on seasonal, bistro-inspired dishes featuring options like Portland crab doughnuts, ricotta agnolotti, and red mullet bouillabaisse.
Cocktails come courtesy of A Bar with Shapes for a Name (No.35 on the World's 50 Best Bars), including on-tap pours like a Brown-Butter Old Fashioned. Wines lean towards European varieties, with sustainability front and centre.
Design studio A-nrd has created a raw-yet-cosy space, while fashion designer Nicholas Daley styled the staff in custom Italian denim. DJs like Ruby Francis and Abraham Parker will bring the vibes after dark.
Canal opens June 30 at Taxi House, Westbourne Park. Bookings recommended.
