East London will host a vibrant celebration of Women's History Month from 1 to 31 March 2025, organised by Alternative Arts in collaboration with Tower Hamlets Council and various local venues. This annual festival highlights the contributions of contemporary women artists, activists, writers, and performers, while also uncovering the hidden histories of remarkable women from East London's past.

Art enthusiasts can explore several exhibitions, including “Abi Morocco Photos” at Autograph, Citra Sasmita's work at the Barbican, the “Women's Spring” open exhibition at the Brady Arts Centre, and “The Threads That Bind Us” at Hackney Museum. The programme also features live performances such as Nadia Reid at EArtH, Ballet Black at Hackney Empire, and “The Women of Llanrumney” at Stratford East.
Film aficionados can engage with “Women's Voices Now”, an online film festival, and “Films of Resistance”, a series of screenings and discussions presented by Four Corners at St. Margaret's House. For those interested in dance, a Bollywood workshop is available at Shoreditch Town Hall, alongside the Swadhinata Mela at Queen Mary University.
Local libraries in East London will host an educational series of talks and events, including “Refugee & Migrant Workers Speak Out” at Bethnal Green Library and "Girl Migrants in East London" at Hackney Archives.
