That's a wrap 2025: The year in rev-you

Right, it's that time of the year again – reflecting on the 365 days behind us, planning for the 365 days coming up, checking the calendar if an extra leap day snuck in anywhere (nope), lingering wistfully over those sweet, sweet summer months, before finally snapping back to the present to start working out how exactly to get home in London after the New Year's Eve party.

But before we let you wander off into the night in search of lonely champagne flutes and prime fireworks viewing spots, allow us to regale you with stories of what you've been up to on our website and what's next for Thatsup. Let's wrap Thingsup!

Insert [Blank] here

Kicking things off with a look at the most-read articles on our website, there's a clear frontrunner, runner-up, and tagging-along-behinder, and it's all one brand. Pardon, one Blank. Blank Street Coffee has taken OFF this year, so much so we're nominating their signature green colour tone to be named “Green Gold” instead of, er, “Hooker's Green.” The coffee franchise could seemingly do no wrong in 2025, popping up in the top three spots on our most-read list thanks to their picnic kits, affogatos, and iced matcha.

A star-studded guestlist

Thirst quenched and caffeine levels sorted, our readers were ready for a spot of socialising – but not just with any regular Joe, oh no. Judging by the next most-read articles, the answer to “which five famous people would Thatsup readers invite for a dinner party” is Jason Atherton, NattyCanCook, Chet Sharma, Endo Kazutoshi, and Tracey Emin. It's a fiendishly clever move, inviting a bunch of top chefs to dinner, we'll give you that, though judging by our exclusive interview with Atherton, there'd be plenty interesting stuff to talk about as well. And might we recommend a martini to go with the conversation? No. 3 Gin's seemed to be a particular hit this year.

Simply the Jess

In addition to being the most read, the above articles have another thing in common – they were all written by our very own Jess. In fact, she lays claim to all the top 10 most-read articles on Thatsup in 2025! If you know, you Jess know, so the next time something with her byline pops up, make sure to give it a read – she's clearly got her finger on the pulse of the city better than anyone else.

The final round-up

When it comes to our longform guides to everything London, we were surprised to find there's very little love for, let's say, Dulwich. Instead, people seem to be most interested in what's for dinner in Soho, Covent Garden, and other parts of Central London.

Yes, shocking, we know. However, despite the generally pricey dining in these areas, plus our guide to wow-factor restaurants again leading the charge as the most-read guide, there's a clear rise in the demand for more budget-friendly options. Whether it's unique yet accessible experiences like desi pubs or conveyor-belt sushi trains, or straight-up queries for budget restaurants in our nifty little Explorer search, it's clear Londoners are looking to cut down on costs. In fact, considering one of our top 10 most-read guides is where to eat at Heathrow Airport, it seems quite a few people might've had it with the Big Prices in the Big Smoke.

Big things coming

Not us, though. We're here for the long haul, especially now that our Business Development Managers are out in force on the streets of London. You'll recognise them by their can-do attitude and their spiffy Thatsup-branded gear, tirelessly pounding the pavement to bring our expertise to London and further afield. If you own a restaurant or other local business and you'd like to know more about how we can help you grow, simply head over here.

Meanwhile, there's been an exciting development on the editorial front this year as well. In addition to London and Manchester, we now cover Brighton as well! Naturally, the sun-loving editors among us are tickled pink by this expansion, but rest assured we'll keep covering the goings-on in all of our cities as assiduously as before, come rain or shine.

And finally, looking ahead to 2026, we've got another batch of exciting updates coming. We'll keep them under wraps (or off this wrap-up, even) for the time being, but we're very much looking forward to seeing what you all think of them. Stick around and happy holidays!
