UK Top 50 Gastropubs 2024: Here are the London winners

At the 2024 Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs awards ceremony held at the Parkers Arms in Lancashire, a number of London gastropubs made the coveted annual list, with the top-ranked London gastropub placing even higher than last year and nearly cracking the Top 5.

The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list is an annual celebration of the finest gastropubs in the country. Hundreds of the nation's foodies, including chefs, critics, and hospitality industry members, cast their votes to pick the best gastropubs in all the land. Last year, Parkers Arms in Lancashire took home the top spot, which also comes with the opportunity to host the awards ceremony the following year.

The full Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list for 2024 was revealed on 22 January, though the awards also whet punters' appetites in the lead-up to the big day by publishing the Top 51–100 gastropubs. London did well for itself in that part of the list, with Marksman moving up eleven spots compared to last year and coming in at #53 as the highest-ranking entry. The Tamil Prince, The Camberwell Arms, Brook House, The Drapers Arms, The Anchor & Hope, The Clarence Tavern, The Compton Arms, The George, and The Warwick all made the secondary list as well.

As for the main event, the number one spot went to back into the hands of The Unruly Pig in Suffolk, 2022's winner, this year, while Parkers Arms dropped to seventh. There were eight London gastropubs in total in the Top 50 list, same as last year, but the top-ranked on improved its position by four places – The Red Lion & Sun in Highgate jumped from #10 to #6.
