The East Bar & Pods at Sketch

It's not often that the toilets are the main draw and the bar almost an afterthought, but with Sketch doing a fine job of upending established tradition throughout its varied offerings, it comes as no surprise its loos follow suit.

The East Bar & Pods is the most futuristic part of the 18th-century townhouse that's home to the endlessly creative Sketch concept by far. The circular bar at its core serves a wide range of premium drinks, including signature bar mixes that aren't readily available in Sketch's other spaces. The bar also regularly hosts performances by talented DJs covering a range of genres, and you shouldn't be too shocked if post-dinner drinks turn into late-night partying with a fashionable clientele.

Despite the immaculate vibes served up at this trendy Mayfair haunt, the singular toilet pods are arguably what it's most famous for. The pristine white cocoons beneath a colourful ceiling, accessed via the curved staircase entwining the aforementioned bar, are part artistic statement, part irresistible social media fodder. Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Sophie Turner, Bella Hadid, and Serena Williams have all snapped selfies for their grids here, making this one of the buzziest photo opportunities in all of London – the perfect capper to an unforgettable night out at Sketch.
