Three Darlings

Chelsea breakfast by Jason Atherton

A 2025 opening from celebrated chef and restaurateur Jason Atherton, Three Darlings runs all day, gliding effortlessly from early breakfasts through to lunch and on into the evening. It has a lively hum without tipping into chaos, making it just as good for a quick coffee and signature breakfast butty as it is for a leisurely, late-morning brunch with friends. Inside, the polished pink-and-marble space feels calm and contemporary, while outside there's a charming terrace that's perfect for soaking up the sun.

Bluebird

Putting the royal in eggs royale

Bluebird is a landmark Art Deco establishment in Chelsea, famed as a buzzy celeb hangout – the Middletons are particularly fond of it, among others. There are different cooked breakfasts to choose from here, including a house full English, steak hache egg and fries, and Turkish eggs, along with porridge, pastries, and other classic choices. It's also the kind of place where no one will bat an eye if you add a cheeky morning cocktail to your order.

Martino's

All-day Italian love affair

Martino's hasn't been around long, but it's already established itself as one of the buzziest places for breakfast in Chelsea, thanks in no small part to renowned restaurateur Martin Kuczmarski's nous when it comes to launching new ventures, building hype, and, above all, designing memorable dining experiences. Breakfast at this elegant be-chandeliered venue veers Italian, with options including savoury croissants, bruschettas, platters of gourmet produce, and more.

Granger & Co.

Aussie brekkie culture

No one does breakfasts quite like Australians – and no Australian did breakfasts quite like Bill Granger, considered one of the pioneers of the now ubiquitous smashed avo toast and other beloved brekkie dishes. The chef passed in 2023, but his legacy lives on at Granger & Co, a group of relaxed, sunnily-disposed eateries known for their top-notch, plentiful breakfasts. The one in Chelsea even has a private dining room, if you'd like to host a special breakfast celebration.

Vardo

Unlimited coffee and striking setting

Vardo is a fully-fledged restaurant from North London's Caravan Coffee Roasters, but great (and free-flowing!) filter coffee isn't all it has going for it. It's housed in a circular pavilion right next to the Saatchi Gallery, with big windows and a large outdoor terrace, making for one of the more memorable settings for breakfast in Chelsea. Morning menu choices include globally inspired dishes like jalapeno cornbread with chorizo braised ox cheek or baked eggs with lamb, with cocktails, juices, smoothies, and other drinks available too.

Charlotte's Cloud

Chelsea breakfast on Cloud Nine

Charlotte's Cloud in Chelsea is the kind of café that every neighbourhood should have. Independent and contemporary, it serves an all-day menu of breakfast and brunch staples in a warm setting, with standout dishes like Charlotte's brekkie – a poached or fried egg, smashed avo on sourdough, fruit, veg, and a chia bowl, with the option to add smoked salami or an HG Walter sausage, and classic brunch cocktails like espresso martinis to wash it all down.

Daylesford Organic works directly from its own certified organic farm, with produce delivered daily from the Cotswolds to London to keep things fresh while staying true to sustainable principles. You can pick up their goods in the group's London farm shops, or sample them cooked and served in the on-site cafés. There are two in Chelsea, serving seasonal breakfast fare like poached clementines, creamed woodland mushrooms, and organic eggs benedict on award-winning sourdough toast.

Mona Lisa

Welcome to Britaly

Mona Lisa is a long-standing, family-run spot that jazzes up familiar British comfort dishes with timeless Italian cooking. Unpretentious and low-key, it's a favourite among Chelsea breakfast crowds, offering everything from classic fry-ups to Italian morning staples. Inside, it's simple and distinctly Italian, while a handful of outdoor tables provide a front-row seat for casual people-watching.

The Black Penny

Known for their breakfast hashes

The Black Penny café in Sloane Square serves up an easy-going menu built around breakfast favourites like eggs and hearty hashes, alongside small plates and sharing boards that work well for a lighter lunch. Their signature filled buns are available all day, joined by expertly made coffee, fresh juices, and a solid line-up of other drinks. If the weather's right, make sure to snag a table on the outside terrace.

My Old Dutch

Pancake heaven

If you're all about pancakes when it comes to breakfast, head to the Chelsea branch of My Old Dutch. Sweet, savoury, sweet and savoury – they do them all here, serving them all day long and with toppings ranging from timid classics to wild combinations. You can even make your own topping combos, and different dietary requirements are catered to so no one feels left out. Stack 'em up and dig in.

Colbert

Chic Parisian bistro

Part of The Wolseley Group, Colbert draws on the spirit of classic Parisian cafés, serving traditional French dishes throughout the day alongside freshly baked pastries and desserts. In the morning, you can choose from breakfast dishes like omelettes or French toast, with a selection of speciality hot drinks and freshly squeezed juices to tie it all together. Featuring framed prints and a chequered door, the interior feels enduring and elegant, and there's outdoor seating as well.

The Good Life Eatery

For a nourishing start to the day

With options like acai bowls, superfood salads, and build-your-own avocado toast, The Good Life Eatery is a Chelsea breakfast destination aimed primarily at health-minded patrons. Encouraging improved nutritional habits, this is a ruggedly elegant Chelsea restaurant that also offers delivery – though making your way there yourself and getting a few steps in is more in line with their ethos.

Cafe Linea

Chill morning café

Launched in mid-2025, Cafe Linea is tucked inside the Grade II-listed arcade in Duke of York Square, with an outdoor terrace looking out at it. With contemporary designer touches sitting alongside the building's original features, this is an elegant spot for breakfast in Chelsea, with options including all the timeless classics – smashed avo, granola, pastries, and full English breakfasts, to name a few, as well as more offbeat choices like cheese waffles or cinnamon rolls.

Hans' Bar & Grill

Not your run-of-the-mill hotel breakfast

The hotel restaurant at 11 Cadogan Gardens is stylish eatery for breezy all-day dining. The award-winning venue features a modern, smart interior, as well as outside seating and private dining options, making it suitable for a range of occasions. The breakfast menu doesn't hold back, covering all the classic and a bit extra, from eggs your way and full English breakfasts to indulgent filled croissants and baps for those on the go.

The Locals

Verdant dockside café

Situated in the Grosvenor Waterside redevelopment, The Locals is a relaxed neighbourhood café with white tiles, lush greenery, and a focus on feel-good, wholesome food. The menu champions fresh, natural ingredients, turning them into satisfying dishes served from morning through to later in the day. Alongside seasonal brunch and all-day breakfast plates, you'll find salads, sandwiches, and a counter stacked with cakes and pastries.
