The best cheese bars and restaurants in London

The Cheese Barge

The best of British cheese

This cosy restaurant is not only unique because it's located on a double-decker boat on Regent's Canal, it also boasts an entirely cheese-based menu. The seasonal dishes revolve around all things cheese, featuring plates such as cheese platters with creative wine pairings and cheese-focused Sunday dinners. All the cheese used in their dishes is locally sourced from British produce, and they're proud to support what they call the revival of British cheese-making while supporting farmers and rural communities.

Pick & Cheese

Omg a cheese conveyor belt

At Pick and Cheese, you'll find the world's first cheese conveyor belt. This unique restaurant, located inside the bustling Seven Dials Market, offers a wide selection of the finest British cheeses, served on a rotating belt, sushi-style, each served with a perfectly matched accompaniment. You can either pick and mix as you go or indulge in 75 minutes of unlimited plates of cheese. To complement your meal, there's also a carefully curated wine list available.

The Cheese Wheel

You might have seen this popular street-food dish on your Instagram feed: a large wheel of cheese filled with freshly made tagliatelle that's hand-rolled daily and topped with your choice of sauce. The real attraction of this dish is having your hot pasta tossed in a giant wheel of Grana Padano, making it as cheesy as possible. You can visit their stall at the buzzy Camden Market.

It has hosted many legendary rock 'n' roll stars, including Lou Reed, U2 and more. These days, it's a lively club that still serves genuine traditional Swiss cuisine, including authentic fondue in many different varieties.

The store also features a downstairs area for hosting events like plant-based cheese and wine tastings.

Arrive hungry

At Michelin-starred Chez Bruce, French haute cuisine is taken very seriously, including their magnificent cheese board, which forms an integral part of the restaurant's makeup.
