Tendril

Redefining plant-based dining

Tendril – A (Mostly) Vegan Kitchen in Mayfair is the ideal spot for sophisticated plant-based dining in a quintessential Mayfair townhouse. These guys started with successful pop-ups, but are now a permanent fixture on Princes Street. The menu is seasonal, featuring dishes that cater to both vegans and meat-eaters, with options such as a pulled oyster mushroom tostada and apple cherry crumble. Lunch, dinner, and a weekday early-bird menu are available, along with an extensive wine list and a selection of cocktails.

Hide

Michelin-starred vegan

This Michelin-starred restaurant offers a tasting or à la carte menu, featuring plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, including dishes such as a papillote of baked white beetroot, paired with wines dating back to the 18th century. The dramatic staircase divides the venue into a light dining room with views of Green Park, an all-day dining area, and a cosy bar. Upstairs, enjoy tucking into the à la carte menu, or head to the ground floor to try the all-day menu. The bar downstairs stocks a wide range of rare spirits and bespoke cocktails.

123V

A wonderful vegan treat

123V is a vegan venture by renowned chef Alexis Gauthier, serving modern plant-based dishes in a luxurious space. It is now located at Browns, but was previously at the now-closed Fenwick store. Here you can tuck into Gauthier's signature vegan sushi, crispy rice dishes, and delicious garden bowls. The dog-friendly restaurant also has a lush private courtyard for alfresco dining.

Club Mexicana

Vegan Mexican street food

When you're craving plant-based Mexican street food, nowhere hits the spot quite like Club Mexicana, which serves a menu of nachos, tacos, and burritos with plant-based fillings like BBQ jackfruit and vegan chicken. Enjoy your meal with natural wine, cocktails, or beer, including the lagerita: a beer topped with frozen margarita.

Brasserie of Light

All-day dining

The undeniable showstopper of this modern eatery inside Selfridges on Oxford Street is the glamorous 24-foot-tall Pegasus created by the artist Damien Hirst. But the menu is just as adventurous, including a range of British and worldly dishes, as well as a selection of cocktails, all served late into the night. Although there isn't a dedicated vegan menu, there are some tasty plant-based options to choose from.

Busaba

Plant-based Thai food

Busaba's flourishing London restaurants serve modern plant-focused Bangkok-style cuisine rooted in the Buddhist “sookjai” philosophy of relaxed enjoyment. The Soho branch is the original and longest-standing of all the restaurants and serves a menu to share, from hearty curries to all-time favourites and grilled specials, including a generous selection of plant-based options.

May Fair Kitchen

Fusion fun

The Kitchens are a renowned collection of restaurants known for their blending of two cuisines on a single menu, like their pairing of Italian and Japanese at May Fair Kitchen. The setting is chic and contemporary with soft lighting and sophisticated decor. Here you can tuck into a selection of small plates, along with fine wines and their signature cocktails. Every one of The Kitchens features a swish lounge bar which also offers set menus and afternoon tea.

Ristorante Olivelli

A taste of Sicily

There are several Ristorante Olivelli's dotted around London, including in Mayfair. The space is bright and contemporary, with cascading plants adding a pop of greenery. As for the menu, expect influences from Sicily, such as antipasti, salads, pizza, pasta, risotto, and a variety of meat and seafood dishes. There is also a selection of Italian wines to pair with the food.

Murano

Seasonal and Michelin

Angela Hartnett's Murano is all about Michelin-starred Italian cuisine with a focus on the freshest seasonal dishes. Choose from set lunch menus or an à la carte menu, packed with dishes like burrata, risotto, and gnocchi. There are lots of plant-based selections, and the extensive wine list is impressive. There's also a chef's table experience for the special occasions.

Piccolino

Authentic Italian

Piccolino is the perfect spot for enjoying traditional Italian cuisine in a slightly fancier place. You'll find it located on Mayfair's famous Heddon Street; it features a spacious terrace, a downstairs cicchetti bar, and an open kitchen. The restaurant features a sophisticated, contemporary design, complete with glitzy chandeliers and columns. The menu features a range of antipasti, classic pasta and risotto dishes, pizza, meat and seafood-based plates, as well as a generous selection of vegan dishes that can be easily filtered on the online menu.

Franco's

An old Italian spot

Franco's was founded in 1945 and is one of London's very first Italian restaurants. This venue is bright, with a traditional vibe, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating for all weather conditions. It also offers a private dining space and hosts events such as wine tastings. The menu features dishes such as burrata and pasta, as well as a set menu and dedicated vegetarian and vegan menus. Cocktails and wine are also served at the bar.
