Trivia: Many people laid to rest in Tower Hamlets were sailors who drowned at sea. They were buried here because the Docklands were so close.

Tower Hamlet Cemetery Park is one of London’s Magnificent Seven cemeteries. The historic cemetery is also designated a Local Nature Reserve, with various wildlife inhabiting the woodland area. Though it was damaged in World War II and neglected for long periods of time, the cemetery was restored at the turn of the millennium and now offers tranquil respite throughout the year.
