Dishoom King's Cross
Since opening in 2014, queues outside of Dishoom have been a fixture of King's Cross. The hyped restaurant has been a major draw for locals and out-of-towners alike with its lively vibe and tasteful setting. The extensive menu of Indian staples rooted in street food cuisine, such as roti rolls, chaat and samosas helps as well, as does the chain's signature black daal, slowly cooked over 24 hours. Oh, while waiting for your table, do dip into the basement bar for a comfy house cocktail such as the hoppy butter punch.
Dishoom is a classic. You might have to wait in line to get in, but it's worth it. The place itself is really nice, with different areas to fit all sorts of occasions and groups, and the food is great. Order a bunch of stuff and share everything, it's the best way to go. Make sure you don't forget the house black daal, and get plenty of breads to mop everything up.
