Världskulturmuseet
Colourful meeting place for conversations, debate and culture
The Museum of World Culture works to make the world a little broader, more humane and more inclusive, which they do by presenting a goldmine of information about the diversity and history of humanity. As well as exhibitions and guided tours, the museum also organises various workshops and programmes.
In the architecturally exciting, award-winning building, you can spend many hours reflecting, admiring and marvelling at our global contemporary world. Encounter artefacts, life stories and stories from all corners of the world in a space full of surprises. Come here to hang out and discover a different environment, or explore the whole wide world.
Over more than 3,000 square metres, the museum collects objects of all kinds, including crocodiles from Papua New Guinea, a book made entirely of threads, an eagle feather hat, gold treasures and a shark tooth sword from Kiribati - and much more. They also organise numerous programs, talks, debates and cultural events that revolve around the world yesterday, today and tomorrow, for both adults and children.
The museum is located on Korsvägen, between Liseberg and Universeum. It combines a museum, restaurant, café and museum shop under one roof. The museum shop sells everything from games and toys to jewellery and household items from all over the world, and the restaurant serves coffee and lunch with local ingredients and international influences.
