Gothenburg's historic Valandhuset has played host to countless parties since it was built in 1886. And although the Teatergatan restaurant has been stylishly modernised, it has managed to retain the building's original, glamorous spirit. Red velvet banquettes, French tiles and a gold and marble bar combine to create a feel of Twenties glamour and decadent parties.

Culinary influences come from all over the world, from main courses direct from the grill to French classics such as moules frites and steak tartare and fusion interpretations of clean Asian flavours. Teatergatan's proximity to the sea is also reflected in the menu, which includes oysters and shellfish platters.
