Where to eat Chinese food in Marylebone

Liu Xiaomian

For the spice lovers

This casual drop-in restaurant is Marylebone's best-kept secret, tucked away in the basement of The Jackalope pub. If spicy food isn't your thing, this might not be the place for you—everything on the menu is packed with heat, even if you request mild. It's run by two women from Chongqing, a region in southwest China famous for its fiery cuisine, who serve steaming bowls of brothy noodles topped with soy sauce, garlic, chilli oil, ginger, Sichuan pepper, and their signature homemade chilli oil for an extra kick.

Royal China Club

The finest ingredients

Royal China Club is the flagship restaurant of the Royal China group and is all about classic Hong Kong favourites like dim sum, roasted duck, and noodles, all made with high-quality ingredients. This Marylebone must-visit is a go-to for those looking for unique Chinese dishes that can't be found anywhere else.

Bright Courtyard Club

A modern Chinese restaurant

You'll find Bright Courtyard Club, a modern Chinese, located inside the iconic 55 Baker Street building. Fine-dining Chinese cuisine is the focus here, including lots of seafood, fish, dim sum, and hot pot dishes. It's a sophisticated spot, located just moments away from the affluent Mayfair and Marylebone High Street, so expect to see a slightly fancier clientele here.

Phoenix Palace

Traditional Chinese

Phoenix Palace takes a more traditional approach to Chinese cuisine, decked out with authentic Chinese lanterns, elegant Chinese-inspired decor and round tables, perfect for chatting while dining. There is an à la carte menu brimming with authentic Chinese dishes as well as various set menus which offer a taste of everything.

The Golden Bund

Shanghai staples

The Golden Bund in Marylebone is a Shanghai-style restaurant serving a mix of classic and more contemporary Chinese dishes. There's lots on the menu here, but some examples include braised lamb noodles, signature smoked fish, Auntie Jin's homemade wontons, and a hearty hot pot. There are plenty of vegetarian dishes and a wide selection of drinks also available.
