I bought a rattan daybed from Granit on Kungsgatan in Stockholm. After paying 419 SEK for home delivery, we read on the store's website that the furniture cannot withstand rain and should be kept protected under a roof and walls, and thus is not suitable for outdoor use (despite being listed as outdoor furniture). When we showed a picture to the store staff of the intended location for the furniture (our balcony), we received no information that the item was not suitable for outdoor use, and of course, we would not have purchased the daybed if we had been informed of this. However, the store staff did not mention this and thought it was a brilliant buy for its intended use.
When we later called to return the item to the store, we were informed that they had no ability to pick up the item and take it back to the store. Thus, it was fine to deliver the item to the customer, but nothing could be done to get it back to the store. When I explained to the staff that it was not possible for me to take it back to the store (due to its size and weight), there was nothing that could be done other than apologies, and I was told that "it was unfortunate to hear." The store manager said it was up to me to bring it to the store if I wanted to return it or alternatively arrange for my own courier to take it to the store. However, one is not particularly eager to order one's own courier for the item and bear those costs when one has already paid 419 SEK for delivery. Later, when I questioned why the store staff did not inform us that the furniture was not suitable for outdoor placement when we showed a picture of the intended location (outdoors on the balcony), we were only told, "it was unfortunate that you did not get that information," but unfortunately, it was not something they could do anything about or take responsibility for. It all ends with me having to carry the furniture from my apartment to the store on Kungsgatan if I want to return the item. Thus, one has paid 419 SEK for a piece of furniture that would not have been purchased if the staff had simply informed that it is not suitable for outdoor use, and then had to carry it back to the store on one's own.
Very disappointing customer experience from Granit on Kungsgatan in Stockholm, as the response from the staff and store manager was unengaged, uncomprehending, and not solution-oriented. Not recommended.
