Set around one of the city's most charming inner courtyards, at Kyrkogatan 13, is a whole bunch of delightful restaurants. One of them is this café, which has been aptly named Café Imperiet. The café also functions as a deli and bar, with a small and well-composed selection of food, snacks and drinks.

Café Imperiet opens at lunchtime and welcomes guests into its homely little venue, which seats around 15 seated guests. Gather around the large bar in the middle of the room or sit along the walls with a friend – or by yourself – and enjoy the peace and quiet while you eat lunch, have a coffee or have a post-work drink. The small stainless steel kitchen and exposed brick walls create a rustic feel that's softened by a pleasant colour scheme, a beautiful tiled floor and gorgeous natural light.

The menu consists of small and large plates, some larger dishes in the form of salads and hearty baguettes that make an excellent lunch, and some snacks such as cheese, charcuterie, oysters, olives and other things that go well with your post-work drink. On the drinks side, you will of course find coffee - it is a café after all - but also a carefully selected selection of wine, beer and cocktails, including coffee drinks such as Irish coffee and espresso martini.

Come here, alone or in good company, to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a while. Sit inside the stylish café or take a seat in the courtyard when the weather permits.

As the name suggests, this is one of the units in the "empire" that also includes sister businesses Champagnebaren, Unity Jazz and Bar Bruno, all based around the same courtyard.
