Guests can live it up in the lavishly-decorated premises, where the atmosphere is intimate and lively. 8ight is a members-only club, which means that you can only get in if you're on the guest list or have booked a table. They've updated their FUNKTION 1 sound system and sound production, ensuring their own high standards for sound are met and that they create the perfect atmosphere for electronic music.

Several generations of Gothenburgers remember numerous long nights at this cult club. The club has recently undergone a facelift, but the core concept is the same as always at Nef: great music and great vibes. DJs fill the dancefloor, there are often live concerts and the party atmosphere is deeply rooted.

At the top of Avenyn, Park Lane is the place that never sleeps, or almost never. The music's pumping and the clubbing goes hand in hand with cabarets and other glittering live shows. The crowd is delightfully mixed, from major international artists to country cousins. On Sundays nights, the restaurant branch cuts loose at the famous Spritluckan club night.

From the same team as 8ight, Cheri-Lee is an Asian dinner-club concept in the heart of Avenyn. The atmosphere here shares equal billing with the food and drinks and the idea is to kick off the evening with dinner and cocktails before the party kicks off. The summer success story Port Du Soleil has moved around town over the years, ending up at the legendary Trädgår'n. This is the place to come for a serious party with all the trimmings. If you want to dance the night away to house with pounding bass, you won't be disappointed. 

Party in style at Bardot, a French-inspired Art Deco nightclub with carpeted floors, muted lighting and a lavish bar where cocktails are mixed to perfection. Open on Fridays and Saturdays, it's the place to come post-work for Friday afternoons that get livelier the later it gets, culminating in a full-scale party. Bardot welcomes an over-25 crowd.

The Stockholm-based Stureplansgruppen has brought their tried-and-tested formula to the west coast, giving Gothenburgers the chance to show the capital how to party. Dance under a spaceship-like cupola or under the stars during the summer months. Large spaces and a great atmosphere with a mixed music offering.

This spot on Stigbergsbacken offers a slightly more alternative club night. If you're in the mood for a Nineties theme, rock, salsa or punk club, you've come to the right place - but make sure you check what's on that particular evening before you head out. Clubs are held on the large rooftop terrace on the top floor, which boasts one of the city's most spectacular views.

Gothenburgers have been coming here for culture and entertainment since the 1920s. These days, the newly-renovated former cinema building plays host to various kinds of clubs, both on the smaller upper floor and the large stage area on the ground floor. A large, diverse crowd pack in to the bar and the dance floor. Indie-poppers, R&B groovers and rock fans alike come for club nights and live performances.

This is one of Gothenburg's very best gay clubs. Party princes pack the clubs' two floors and everyone is welcome here as long as you're free and open-minded. The various dancefloors provide a mix of music and house fans and pop queens alike can get their groove on. The club features guest performances from various gay icons and has won the Gaygala's Gothenburg prize.

This South American-influenced restaurant transforms into a euphoric dance palace at weekends. Throbbing salsa and merengue tones are the order of the day and the wooden dancefloor fills with professional dancers and enthusiasts alike. Cool off with a tropical cocktail as the heat and atmosphere seduce you.

There's been a party at this address since the late 1800s. These days, Valand is one of the city's most popular clubs and there's a party atmosphere every Friday and Saturday night. The club consists of two dance floors, with new hits played on one and another right next to their own Rock bar.
