Beloved West African restaurant Chishuru is currently closed and in the middle of relocation, but head chef Adejoké “Joké” Bakare isn't sitting around doing nothing – she's launched a pop-up at The Globe Tavern in Borough Market.

Under the name Joké & Friends, Bakare is serving a set menu in order to raise funds for the reopening, as well as try out new dishes for the restaurant proper. As indicated by the name of the pop-up, she's also invited some of her friends along for the ride. Chefs from the likes of Singburi and Quince Bakery will be adding dishes to the weekly menu throughout the pop-up's duration.

Joké & Friends is currently running through 29 July. It's already been extended once due to the search for Chishuru's new home taking longer than expected, but according to Bakare, the wait is nearly at an end, so this might be your last chance to try the pop-up. You can book your spot at the table here.
