South London's renowned City Splash Festival is heading indoors for the first time this autumn, throwing a big party at Drumsheds, with a warm-up film premiere the day before to boot.
City Splash Festival, a one-day festival in Brixton that celebrates the historic impact of Caribbean and African culture in the UK, is hosting an autumn weekender to tide you over until the May bank holiday rolls around again. The festivities begin on Friday 2 November with the UK premiere of “BAM BAM: The Sister Nancy Story”, a documentary chronicling the life and legacy of legendary Jamaican artist Sister Nancy. The one-time-only premiere screening at Art'otel Hoxton will provide an intimate and exclusive viewing experience for fans and supporters of reggae culture and Sister Nancy's ground-breaking work.
The following day, City Splash heads indoors for the first time ever. Taking over the massive Drumsheds club in North London, the festival is putting on a varied line-up of Reggae, Dancehall, and Afrobeats acts. Headlined by Konshens and Teejay, the day-long party will showcase both heritage acts and some of the most promising young talent of today.
