Pull up your lederhosen, flex your stein-carrying muscles, and twist your pretzels – the most famous Bavarian celebration is coming to South London.
In October, the legendary Electric Brixton venue will get in the spirit of Oktoberfest, Bavaria's world-famous festival of beer, wursts, schlager music, loud singalongs, and questionable decision-making. Of course, there's no shortage of German restaurants and bier halls in London that are sure to be partaking in the festivities, but this is the first time Electric Brixton is getting in on the fun.
In collaboration with the Oktoberfest UK team, known for hosting sold-out Bavarian bashes since 2016, the venue will host Oktoberfest Brixton across four October Saturdays. The day-long parties will feature everything you'd expect – long wooden tables, bunting, lively Bavarian bangers, authentic German beer brands, and characteristically elongated German street food of all sorts, with the wursts apparently flown in all the way from Germany. There'll even be comedy acts, though anyone who's ever been to the original Oktoberfest in Munich will tell you the real comedy comes from within – from within the poor souls who go overboard on the steins and wursts, that is.
Oktoberfest Brixton will take place on 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th October, with 2,000 revellers expected each day. Find more info and tickets here.
