The Montagu Kitchen, located within the sophisticated Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, is introducing a brand-new afternoon tea inspired by the universal love for travel and the wonderful cultural background of the restaurant's culinary team.

The new afternoon tea will launch in late September and will focus on Central and South American destinations as an ode to the team and Sir Winston Churchill's incredible travels, as the hotel marks his 150th birthday this year.

Executive Chef Carlo Martino and his team, along with newly appointed pastry chef Mathieu Dias Fernandes, have crafted the new menu. Guests are welcomed with a symbolic boarding pass, a refreshing washcloth, and a welcome drink to enjoy. The food is served in a bespoke handcrafted luggage box with luggage tags and a Polaroid photo to commemorate their afternoon tea experience.

The menu reads as a love letter to various countries across South America, featuring highlights such as a Mexican Beans Taco, Fosforito, Corn Bead Chicken Sandwich with Pico de Gallo and a Vinaigrette Beef Sandwich. There's also plenty for those with a sweet tooth, including Coconut and Pineapple, Hibiscus, Coffee and Tonka, and Chocolate and Dulce de Leche. In true afternoon tea style, there will be scones with a slight twist, served with pineapple and lime jam.

As for drinks, The Montagu Kitchen has created a twist to the classic Caipirinha, originally from Brazil and made of Cachaça sugar and lime. There will also be a selection of teas to choose from, such as White, Black, Green, Blooming, Matcha and Herbal Tea, as well as a bespoke blend, 'The Montagu Bloom', created to transport guests to the exotic landscapes of Latin America.
