For 20 years, the community-powered E17 Art Trail has been highlighting the work of artists based in the E17 area. Visitors to this free arts festival can tour studios, exhibition spaces and outdoor venues in and around Walthamstow in East London, celebrating the creativity of local artists and transforming the neighbourhood into a haven for the arts.

In 2024, the biennial festival is celebrating 20 years and has selected value as its theme. Taking place throughout the first half of June, the E17 Art Trail features 4800 exhibitors at more than 150 locations spread out across the area. You can plan out your route in advance or take it as you go, do the full trail or just one section, join a guided tour or strike out on your own – it's up to you how you want to enjoy it. In addition to the works displayed along the trail for the duration of the festival, more than 250 events and exhibitions are organised as well, including open studio days, workshops, and more.

The arts festival takes place across Walthamstow from 1 to 16 June and is free to visit. Check out the E17 Art Trail website for a full rundown of sites and events, including a handy digital guide to help you plan your outing.
