The Windrush era is a key part of the country's history, and on 21st and 22nd October the Horniman Museum is bringing it to life. This award-winning South London museum has recreated a typical living room from the time, creating an interactive space to learn about the people who travelled to the UK from the Caribbean in 1948. The exhibit is free to attend and you're welcome to just drop in.
Not only can you explore the space, but you can hear more about the experiences of the Windrush generation too. Uncle Tony and Aunty Vie will be telling stories throughout the weekend that will keep all ages entertained. This exhibit is part of a series of Windrush-themed events at the museum to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Windrush sailing to the UK.
