Most of us love a trip to the pub and if there's something special to celebrate then even better. With the coronation of King Charles III coming up on 6th May, the government has announced that pubs and bars will see their licensing hours extended for the weekend so that everyone has a chance to celebrate this historic moment.

For venues throughout England and Wales, including in London where the coronation itself will take place, licensing hours will be extended between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th May so that the usual closing time of 11pm will instead be at 1am. The decision was made after a public consultation where 77% supported the extended hours.

The coronation takes place on 6th May at Westminster Abbey with an extra bank holiday on Monday 8th.
