Like street art? Then you'll love this year's London Mural Festival

Street art has been in the news a lot recently thanks to the escapades of certain mystery man and his stencil fauna, but street art aficionados will really come into their own in September. The biggest celebration of street art in the city returns next month, putting up more than 100 new murals across the capital.

The London Mural Festival engages some of the most talented street artists in the world to give the capital a colourful makeover. New murals will be installed in locations across London in the lead-up to the festival, with the first one, “A Lasting Place” by Spanish artist Sebas Velasco, already in place in Brixton's Cobbett Street. Over the coming weeks, it will be joined by more than 100 murals, accompanied by a varied programme of tours, workshops, and other events.

The street art festival will take place from 5 to 29 September, bringing together thousands of artists, visitors, and local communities. During the opening weekend, you'll be able to visit a street art exhibition at Kachette in Shoreditch, peruse a giant map of the entire city by artist Angry Dan, give spraying a go yourself with an interactive mural, meet the artists, and more.

You can find out everything you need to know about the month-long street art celebration on the festival website.
