London is known for being an inclusive city and we're proud to have a wide range of LGBTQ+ venues around the capital. If you've been feeling like the scene has a comedy club-shaped gap, you'll be pleased to know that the capital's first permanent LGBTQ+ comedy club is opening in May in Archway – The Queer Comedy Club.
The venue will be a safe and inclusive space for queer comedians as well as queer audiences. You can expect to see big names as well as some up-and-coming comedy talent. Events will take place that showcase queer comedians only whilst other shows will include allies and friends of the LGBTQ+ community. Regular nights will be on the schedule as well as on-off shows and special events.
The concept for The Queer Comedy Club came from a trio of comedians, David Ian, Jeremy Topp and Kate Dale. These performers recognised the need for a space specifically for LGBTQ+ performers. The venue officially opens on 11th May with a big launch event featuring established names and newcomers. If you don't want to wait until then for your queer comedy fix, the venue is holding a few nights in the coming weeks before the official event. This new venue promises to be an exciting and welcome addition to London's comedy scene, as well as a top new venue for queer Londoners.
