London's longest-running literary festival celebrates renowned authors and rising stars

London Literature Festival will take place at Southbank Centre until 3 November, celebrating written and spoken word in all forms. Expect prestigious names alongside a lineup of emerging literary stars.

Saturday marks Poetry Day, and to celebrate the occasion, the National Poetry Library is hosting a series of free events for all ages. The day will include special appearances by actor Rupert Everett and foreign correspondent Lindsey Hilsum. On Sunday, biologist Richard Dawkins will be among the highlights of the program.
