If you find the shape of a hot-dog strangely aesthetic, but would prefer if it came packing custard instead of meat, well, turn your gaze towards King’s Cross and the first proper Longboys café.
Longboys are known for their gourmet finger doughnuts, hand-made with brioche dough and fresh fillings without over-the-top sweetness. You can choose different and often unexpected flavours, for example raspberry rose lychee, apple crumble, lemon meringue pie or triple choc brownie. The menu changes monthly and features seasonal specials as well, and gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options are also available.
The award-winning elongated doughnuts could so far be found mainly as takeaway desserts at food courts, markets and other events. Now they’re settling into a more permanent location in King’s Cross. They’re closing down their Coal Drops Yard counter and moving into a more spacious arch almost next door, opening on 28th October. At their brand-new 10-seater venue, they’ll also be serving speciality coffee, ice cream and sodas.
Longboys will be celebrating their new opening by handing out 100 mini pumpkin spice doughnuts on launch day. It’s first come first served, so best get down there early, but even if you miss out, you can take advantage of the 50% discount on all Longboys until 30th October.
