New London restaurant Studio Five will open this June in the 1,200-capacity Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. This sleek new spot draws on the area's musical history and heritage for a one-off dining experience steeped in culture.
The site has an interesting history. It once hosted Fox Films, ITV, and Limehouse. The Beatles performed here in 1964, and Freddie Mercury recorded his final music video in 1991. From 1993 to 2017, Fountain operated the site, hosting shows like The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.
Locally sourced dishes are the highlight here, including crispy fried aubergine with coconut raita, Blythburgh pork cutlet with Kashmiri chilli, and modern fish and chips with minted pea purée and chilli ketchup.
Co-owners Oliver Royds and Tristan Baker, renowned producers, bring their expertise to Studio Five. Their past productions include David Bowie's Lazarus, Guys & Dolls, and Disney's Newsies. They want to honour the venue's heritage with chic interiors like rich velvets, warm metal finishes, and dark reclaimed oak, creating a laid-back, luxurious speakeasy vibe.
Studio Five will be open from 8 June 2024.
